SBY lahir pada tanggal 9 September 1949 di desa Pacitan, Jatim. Pemilu merupakan acronym dari kalimat Pemilihan Umum. Pemilu sendiri merupakan sebuah pesta demokrasi dimana pada pemilu tersebut diadakan suatu proses memilih bagi mereka para pemilih yang telah memasuki usia yang ditetapkan Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU).

Dalam proses ini para pemilih disuguhkan atas pilihan terhadap partai-partai tertentu atau wakil-wakil rakyat yang akan duduk untuk menempati jabatan-jabatan politik tertentu di pusat pemerintahan.

Jabatan-jabatan disini tentu beraneka ragam mulai dari eksekutif, yudikatif dan legislatif dari tingkat daerah hingga tingkat pusat hingga pemilihan kepala negara atau Presiden. Dan dalam pengertian yang lebih luas pemilu bisa diartikan proses pemilihan untuk mengisi jabatan-jabatan tertentu dimanapun dan apapun organisasinya.
